Bihar: This time in the Bihar Assembly elections, the most interesting contest is being seen on the Mahua seat. Both the sons of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav—Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav—are indirectly facing each other. On one hand, Tejashwi Yadav's party, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), has made Mukesh Kumar Roshan its candidate, while on the other hand, Tej Pratap is trying his luck from this seat on the ticket of his new party, Janashakti Janata Dal (JJD). This contest has become a test not only of power but also of family unity and political legacy.

Why did Mahua become the center of discussion?

The Mahua assembly seat is considered a strong stronghold of the Lalu family's politics. In 2015, Tej Pratap became MLA from here, but later he distanced himself from the party. Now that he has formed his own party, this election in Mahua has become not just a battle for power but also a symbol of the ideological tussle within the family.

What did the two brothers say?

Tejashwi Yadav recently said in a public meeting, "No one is bigger than the party. Party is everyone's identity." This statement seemed to point directly towards Tej Pratap. At the same time, Tej Pratap retorted and said, "The public is the biggest power. In a democracy, they are the real owner, not the party." It is clear from his answer that now he is completely ready to decide his own political path.

Impact on the Yadav vote bank?

Tej Pratap's rebellion has increased RJD's concern. It is believed that a large part of Yadav votes may get divided, due to which the opposition parties may benefit. However, Tejashwi is standing in the field relying on his development work and the strength of the alliance. At the same time, Tej Pratap is trying to capitalize on local issues and public anger.

What's next?

The result of Mahua seat will not be just one seat, but it will decide in which direction the political legacy of Lalu family will go further. Will the unity of the family return again or will a new chapter begin in the politics of Bihar – time will answer this.
